Ateepee (also tepee and tipi) is a conical tent, traditionally made of animal skins, and wooden poles. Tipis are stereotypically associated an the great plains mostly used different types of dwellings.
The tipi is durable, provides warmth and comfort in winter, is cool in the heat of summer, and is dry during heavy rains. Here at pink apple orchard, we have redesigned the traditional teepee to suit it's surroundings. All hand crafted and built here with locally sources wood to form the traditional conical tent and a unique wooden door which blends its character to the originally designed celtic yurt's. The teepee is beautifully nestled in under the trees with its own private seating area close to the children's play area, the communal kitchen and toilets.
Cooking over the Fire
Of course, breakfast, lunch and dinner were cooked over the campfire. Even though the acorns didn’t help out as much this time, busy as they were playing with their new friends, cooking and eating soon gathered everyone, young and less young, around the fire – conversations started, tastings took place, tips and recipes were exchanged. With the kelly kettle nearby to boil the water collected from the stream, bacon and eggs, pancakes, fish in tinfoil, pasta, quesadillas, even pizza in a cast-iron dutch oven , were on the menu.
